Description

The interior designer's position consists of Conducting preliminary studies and evaluations of projects to determine interior design requirements. Prepares cost estimates, sketches, layouts, specifications, and other criteria pertinent to project development. Selects and suggests color schemes, furniture, and materials.

Requirements

Tasks

  • Create drawings in AutoCAD and/or CET, other CAD software (typicals, furniture plans, 3D’s)

  • Check other designer's specifications

  • Consistent updates to Design Manager

  • Continuous project updates with the sales team

  • Maintenance of internal reporting systems, i.e. timesheets and project files

  • Adhere to deadlines of key deliverables

  • Prepare installation drawings and supporting documents (specs)

  • Identify areas that need field verification and coordinate actual dimensions with the final plan

  • Inventory existing product; incorporate in furniture plans and specifications

  • Create sample boards

  • Continuing education related to product updates and industry trends

  • Create specifications and .sif files (including key schedules and tagging)

  • Revise drawings and specs (including .sif) when required

  • Assist with budget pricing

  • Design team aids sales with initial customer meeting

  • Programming and needs analysis

  • Develop creative solutions based on customer needs

  • Space planning to meet the customer’s requests using standards if applicable

  • Project meetings with customers when required

Qualifications and requirements

  • 6+ month work experience (NOTE: any experience does not need to be in the field mentioned).

  • A well-put-together portfolio of your designs and achievements.

  • Proficient in CAD software i.e AUTOCAD, ARCHICAD, SKETCHUP, REVIT, etc.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint.

  • Skills in graphic design and/or Photoshop or illustrator.

  • Skills in Photorealistic Rendering.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work hours as needed to support team and meet customer expectations.

  • Train and/or mentor other designers.

  • Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions or decisions and choose the most appropriate one.

Work environment


This job operates in both a professional office environment and on the field. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Minimal travel is expected for this position.
