A Construction Project Manager at Infinite Rwanda is central to ensuring exceptional delivery across all company projects, consistently exceeding client and stakeholder expectations. Serving as the principal authority on-site, this role demands meticulous leadership, rigorous organization, a proactive schedule and cost control, and a strong dedication to client satisfaction.
The project manager will uphold Infinite Rwanda’s brand reputation, ensuring stringent adherence to safety, quality, and procedural standards. By demonstrating exceptional organizational skills and collaborative leadership, the Project Manager creates a structured environment that fosters productivity, safety, and continuous improvement, driving projects from initiation to successful completion.
Requirements
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and maintain an integrated Project Management Plan (PMP), outlining objectives, methodologies, resources, and timelines.
Develop, implement, and monitor project schedules, work breakdown structures, and delivery milestones.
Monitor, control, and analyze project costs; enforce variance reporting and implement corrective measures to protect profitability
Utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques to measure project performance, forecast cash flows, and anticipate resource needs (Coordinate material procurement schedules and ensure logistics align with construction timelines.)
Lead regular client and stakeholder meetings, ensuring expectations are understood, managed, and exceeded; conduct satisfaction surveys quarterly.
Manage the evaluation, negotiation, and approval of all project change orders, maintaining strict adherence to agreed-upon cycle times.
Champion Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) initiatives, actively monitor Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR), and implement continuous improvement strategies.
Enforce quality management through oversight of Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), quality audits, and timely compilation of handover dossiers.
Ensure site activities align with approved drawings, specs, and quality benchmarks.
Conduct thorough risk identification sessions, perform quantitative risk analyses, and maintain active mitigation tracking.
Coordinate procurement activities and rigorously manage subcontractor performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
Enforce strict oversight of document control, including maintaining Request for Information (RFI) logs, submittal registers, and all contract correspondence.
Prepare comprehensive weekly and monthly reports, including schedule progress (S-curves), cost reports, and safety performance dashboards.
Ensure consistent enforcement of brand standards across all site signage, project presentations, documentation, and communications.
Serve as a brand ambassador - upholding professionalism, excellence, and integrity in all dealings.
Lead, mentor, and conduct regular performance reviews for project engineers, foremen, and supervisory staff.
Initiate and implement continuous improvement practices through Lean construction methodologies, capture lessons learned, and integrate innovative digital tools.
Interface with the Finance department to ensure timely progress billing, accurate invoicing, and successful resolution of claims.
Day-to-day tasks and deliverables expected
Conduct daily site walks to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
Review and approve daily and weekly project schedules.
Facilitate regular site coordination and progress meetings.
Ensure timely documentation, tracking, and closure of RFIs and submittals.
Review daily progress reports from site supervisors, tracking productivity and budget adherence.
Review task completion, productivity, and labor utilization
Conduct client check-ins and promptly resolve any issues or concerns.
Attend and lead coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders
Monitor daily cost and procurement reports, addressing deviations immediately.
Oversee accurate, timely submission of payroll, attendance, and workforce reports.
Respond swiftly to emerging project issues, escalating and documenting resolutions.
Review and approve material requests, delivery notes, and work inspections
Ensure cleanliness, safety signage, and site access control are in place daily
Maintain morale, discipline, and a culture of accountability on site
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related technical discipline.
Professional certification, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 required.
Minimum of 10 years of direct construction management experience, including at least 5 years managing large-scale projects.
Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), and cost control tools
Proficiency in technical drawings and specifications review
Demonstrated experience with ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems).

Comprehensive understanding of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) compliance.
Fundamental knowledge of construction contract law and claims management.
Proficiency with digital reporting and project management tools.
Reporting Line
Reports to: Senior Project Manager / Regional Construction Director or Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Coordinates with:Suppliers, Site Managers, Site Engineers, Foremen, Storekeepers, Safety Officers, Subcontractors, Client Representatives, Admin Team

Working Conditions / Location
The role involves a combination of site-based management and head office duties; approximately 60% on-site, 40% office-based. Regular travel between project locations is expected. Standard personal protective equipment (PPE) must always be worn when on site. Extended hours, weekends, and emergency response availability may be required to meet project milestones.
